Awards Ceremony & Lunch

The Awards Ceremony honors the achievements of IEEE and IEEE Communications Society members with a myriad of paper awards for their various contributions to the society. The Society’s major paper awards recognize outstanding and original papers published in IEEE ComSoc journals and magazines, which essentially enlarge the field of communications engineering; for example, open new lines of research, envision bold approaches to communication and formulate new problems to solve. Award recipients discover, extend, or complement technological advancements in education, industry, research and service.
This event is included with the full conference registration. Luncheon tickets will be collected to ensure eligibility for event attendance. Additional tickets are available for purchase.

The IEEE Communications Society is excited to announce the inclusion of a “Student Career Luncheon” at ICC 2019. Women in Communications Engineering Luncheon
"Increasing the Visibility of Women in Communications Engineering"

In this session, organized by the Women in Communications Engineering standing committee of IEEE ComSoc, we will congratulate the WICE awardees of 2018 and discuss plans and ideas to increase the visibility of women in Communications engineering. In particular, we will debate about the initiatives of WICE to increase the presence of women in IEEE ComSoc committees, as well as female IEEE Senior members and Fellows.
The session will have the following schedule:
- Welcome and introduction by WICE Chair
- Presentation of WICE awards 2018
- WICE activities towards increasing the visibility of women in Communications engineering
- Panel discussion about "Increasing the visibility of women in Communications Engineering".
Lunch will be served.
